The Coordinator for Engagement and Outreach serves as a resource for all student engagement events and activities. With a focus on student outreach and event promotion, the Coordinator will design and implement a marketing plan to engage new and returning students in all aspects of campus life. Responsibilities will include digital/web media, social media, print resources, tabling, and other in-person engagement strategies. This position will collaborate with various partners to create a vibrant campus experience for commuter and resident students.

Create and supervise the student engagement street team to create a vibrant campus community:

  • Recruit and manage team of student leaders, including hiring, training, scheduling and approve timesheets.

  • Propose and implement semesterly marketing plan that includes web, social media, print, and in-person strategies.

  • Serve as liaison to all student engagement offices and student councils.

  • Design schedule of event promotion, social media posts, and tabling.

  • Lead monthly meetings with engagement departments to prioritize upcoming needs and align resources.

  • Host weekly engagement booths on campus, including outdoors, Landon atrium, and dining hall to promote, upcoming events, deadlines, leadership positions, off-campus experiences, career/internships opportunities, service days, inclusion programs, etc.

  • Facilitate info sessions, focus groups, workshops, and drop-in hours to gauge student interest, collect feedback, and make recommendations for improved campus engagement.

  • Design and implement engagement zone for Open House, Admitted Students Day, Orientation, and Parent Programs.

  • Represent Barry University at local community events, such as Unity Day, Pride Parade, Green Day, etc.

Serve as a Marketing liaison to ensure efficient processing of Marketing ticket requests. Facilitate student engagement marketing requests, including:

  • Coordinate design requests for student engagement events, including Orientation, themed weeks/months, and university traditions.

  • Ensure all student engagement websites are up to date with relevant and accurate information.

  • Process photography and videography requests for special events, including shot list and deliverables.

Coordinate campus and community engagement efforts as a member of the Student and Parent Engagement team:

  • Assist department colleagues in overall initiatives, events, and activities.

  • Participate in planning and implementation of departmental programs, including Orientation, Parent programs, New Student activities, Student Life events, clubs and orgs, Student Government, Commuter Council, etc.

  • Support engagement events including Major Days of Service, Leadership and Inclusion programs, Career Development fairs, Ministry and Outreach, and themed weeks/months.

  • Advise and chaperone student activities including evening and weekend events, off-campus trips, service projects, and campus events.

  • Manage promotion and trainings for Engage/Corq platform, including features such as events, forms, assessments, pathways, co-curricular transcripts, etc.

Social Media Marketing, including management of various university accounts:

  • Design and schedule posts to foster positive engagement on campus and with local community.

  • Provide creative direction to student groups, professional staff on videos, photos, and designs to connect with prospective and current student audiences.

  • Record videos, tag relevant departments, and collaborate with other units to develop content.

  • Post recap photos, stories, and reels of all engagement events.

  • Write stories for Barry university blog and recommendations for LinkedIn posts.

  • Create polls to assess student interest and preferences, including post-event feedback.

  • Organize challenges, raffles, and competitions to increase followers.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Evenings and weekend work to be expected.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of professional integrity and handle sensitive information confidentially and with the utmost professionalism.

  • Experience and/or passion working with a dynamic and diverse student population.
