Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the execution of marketing initiatives of a Barry University School/College specifically and the Barry University brand in general.
The individual in this position supports enrollment strategies, events, retention initiatives and special projects and collaborates with other members in Marketing and the Barry Ad Co in the execution of these campaigns or activities.
THIS IS POSITION IS FULL-TIME, ON-CAMPUS IN MIAMI SHORES.
1. In support of Undergraduate Marketing Manager, coordinates the execution of marketing initiatives. Ensures that all marketing efforts align with the overall marketing and recruitment plans for Schools and Colleges, and Barry University brand. Collaborates with other members of the marketing team to ensure all projects are flawlessly delivered on time, and within budget if applicable.
2. Participates in the development of the marketing and recruitment plans. Provides expertise based on analysis of the effectiveness of previous marketing efforts while providing proactive input on new approaches.
3. Participates in the development of engagement and communication plans using a variety of traditional and new media. Works with program managers to schedule enrollment information sessions, or other invitations in Gecko, or similar platforms.
4. Participates in the creation and execution of marketing strategies for events and coordinates the execution of such strategies. Reports on the effectiveness of the event and its marketing initiatives.
5. Manages and tracks projects, measures, analyzes and reports on marketing and recruitment initiatives as assigned.
6. Explores new ways to engage with target audiences. Contributes to engagement efforts of the University.
7. Identifies and develops content for multiple channels including Social Media, the Barry Blog, barry.edu, email, or print.
8. Creates informed creative briefs as needed for specific clients. Flawlessly and accurately maintains projects in TeamDynamix from inception to completion.
9. Ensures adherence to Barry University brand guidelines with all work created.
10. Proactively participates in all overall marketing efforts regardless of specific assignments. +Other duties assigned by group supervisor, client and AVP of Marketing and Brand.
Participate in the creation and implementation of marketing, engagement, communications plans
for future students, influencers, alumni, and other constituents.
Set deadlines/timelines for assigned projects and manage client expectations.
Coordinate the production of collateral and promotional items for the recruitment of future students and engagement with current students, alumni, and other constituents.
Support school/college events before, during, and after. (Event times vary and may occur during nights and weekends).
Write, proofread and flawlessly execute creative content in collaboration with content creators (writers, art directors, videographers, among others).
Create informational/results/performance presentations as needed or assigned.
Engages with current and future students to informally determine effectiveness of marketing and engagement initiatives.
Stays up to date on advertising and marketing trends and new media.
Bachelor's degree required in Marketing, Advertising, Psychology, Communications, Communications Technology, and related fields. Also, academic programs within a Barry University School/College.
Master's degree in management or marketing preferred.
1-3 years previous marketing experience required.
Knowledge of marketing campaigns, collateral, digital marketing, social media and data analysis.
Excellent writing, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 software and functionality.
Deep knowledge of the following areas/skills can compensate for lack of work experience:
- Understanding of Barry University, its student life and Mission
- Understanding or higher education recruitment practices, including interaction with future students
- Understanding of the School/College he or she will be representing
- Understanding of higher education in general, including campus life
- Advertising, Marketing, PR, Digital or Social Media company internships
- Experience as a Content Creator for orgs, school or personal
- Interest in advertising, design, visual arts and communications
- Experience with writing for org, school or personal publications (websites, blogs, writing competitions, etc.)
Knowledge of project management platforms such as Workfront
Critically think through marketing and the School/College goals to provide appropriate recommendations for the implementation of effective enrollment and marketing plans.
The individual in this position must be able to analyze inquiry, application, marketing campaign, engagement and other data in order to make recommendations to improve our marketing strategies.
The individual in this position must be able to manage large-scale projects and events.
