The Associate Vice President for Advancement Services and Operations is a senior leadership position in the Division of University Advancement at Barry University. The Associate Vice President for Advancement Services and Operations is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the University’s advancement services area, leads successful stewardship strategy, oversees gift management and processing, and serves as a key partner to colleagues in University Advancement to utilize data and analytics to drive fundraising success.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and supervise the department staff in Advancement Services to achieve overall success for the College.
  • Responsible for monitoring and evaluating direct reports and overall department staff performance. Maintain an efficient, collegial, and proactive work environment within the Advancement department offices.
  • Lead the Advancement Services operations, overseeing donor database management; gift and biographical records management; and gift processing and accounting; data science, predictive analytics, and reporting.
  • Lead a successful stewardship program that strategically targets donors, particularly leadership level donors to strengthen their financial support for the College.
  • Provide leadership and strategic vision for prospect research, relationship management, and analytics with business intelligence to support principal and major gift development and solicitation, as well as comprehensive campaign initiatives.
  • Oversee dynamic programs that builds data supported, action-driven applications and tools in current CRM database suite of tools.
  • Represent University Advancement on related university committees, ensuring Development and Alumni Relation’s involvement in fiscal and data stewardship to ensure the efficient use of business knowledge to implement sophisticated solutions to serve the university.
  • Interface with internal departments and the College on behalf of Company Advancement. Serve as Company’s Advancement’s liaison for college reporting, including the VSE survey, strategic plan, annual University indicators, risk assessment surveys and various miscellaneous College reports.
  • Prospect Research Management, with a goal of 300 prospects within the first year, and $2 Million in secured donations among the 300
  • Serves on the University’s IT Advisory Committee, and the University Communications Committee

  • Research Advancement Services best practices and incorporate when appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned

This is an in-person position

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Minimum of 8 years previous experience in Advancement Operations
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, an acute attention to detail, excellent organizational skills
  • Well developed computer literacy with experience in word processing, spreadsheet and fundraising databases, advanced internet skills. Raiser's Edge and Microsoft Access experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of philanthropy with an emphasis on cultivation, stewardship and solicitation
  • Kowledge of accounting, payouts, award amounts and fund balances
