Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of the Student Services Center, the Enrollment and Account Specialist performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to: greeting visitors, providing answers to student and staff inquiries through review of information within the university student information system and communicating with other areas or departments. The individual must be able to anticipate constituent questions and should have the ability to thoroughly review student accounts and registration statements to answer questions. Perform general administrative duties for the Student Services Center - making referrals, answering the main phone line and office email account – are required. Must be able to multi-task and possess good oral communication and customer services skills. Ideally, this person will have admission, registrar and/or student account experience.
This is an In-person position.
Essential Functions
Meets and greets the public, including current and former students, faculty, staff, and other visitors, in a professional and courteous manner - either in person, or via email or telephone communications. Strict adherence to guidelines for disclosing student information in accordance with University policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is necessary.
Unifies communications between Student Accounts (CBO), Registrar and Office of Financial Aid, as well as the various schools/colleges within the University to resolve and or facilitate student registration, transcript ordering, account problem resolution and the collection of student information as needed.
Handles transcripts and account inquires received by email, phone, and walk-ins.
Responds to calls in a timely manner.
Communicates effectively with various University offices to expedite processing of requests when needed.
Manages difficult customers in a professional and courteous manner. Must have excellent communication skills.
Collaborates and assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
High school/GED required
Bachelor's degree preferred
1 - 3 years relevant work experience required
Must have knowledge and experience with Outlook Email, Calendar, and SharePoint.
Must be able to communicate registrar’s related policies and procedures verbally and through written correspondence (email, phone, in person). Candidate should be fluent in Spanish.
Must be able to handle issues with a student’s record involving registration, restrictions, billing, and various registrar’s documents.
