Summary

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the discipline and the departmental core; provide thesis mentoring, engage in Program, College, and University service, and engage in scholarly research. The candidate must also be responsive to the mission of Barry University (see Web site: http://www.barry.edu/about/mission/

This is an In-person position.

This is a 9-month position with anticipated start date of January 1, 2024.

Essential Functions

The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to:

  • Utilize face-to-face, online, and blended teaching modalities to facilitate student learning in graduate and undergraduate coursework as assigned by the department chair.

  • Have experience teaching one or more of the following: orthopedic evaluation, general medical conditions, therapeutic interventions and/or psychosocial aspects of patient care.

  • Responsibilities may include, but is not limited to, recruiting, on boarding and managing clinical education affiliations with new and existing clinical sites, performing site visits, advising students, developing and enforcing policy, evaluating student performance, reviewing student and site feedback, communicating with clinical instructors and students, participating in accreditation processes, and administering other aspects of the clinical education program.

  • The candidate will engage in clinical scholarly activity, university, and community service, and will work with other university departments to recruit students in the College of Health and Wellness.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • All applicants must be Athletic Training Certified, have a current or the ability to obtain a Florida Athletic Training License, and have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) with the appropriate healthcare field designation.

  • Applicants must have a Doctoral degree in Athletic Training or a related field with athletic training clinical experience.
