Regulatory Data and Reporting Lead
Overview of Position
This role is responsible for three critical pillars within the Global Housing (GH) Claims Organization: regulatory data oversight, SME (subject matter expert) claims training, and knowledge management governance. This role will serve as a cross-functional SME, ensuring regulatory compliance, cultivating organizational capability through claims training programs, and overseeing the governance of the GH Claims Knowledge Management Platform (currently Scoop).
The role will set up and implement processes to set up tracking and completion of regulatory data requests, validating the accuracy of the response, and answering any potential regulatory questions related to the data calls.
The role will also be accountable to set up a governance process to maintain the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness of the knowledge management platform, acting as the single point of contact for addition, adjustment, and/or deletion of GH Claims knowledge resources, guidance, and expectations.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Strategic Alignment & Partnership - Works closely with management and provides insight to developing short and long-term goals that are aligned with the organization’s focus and vision.
Leadership of Regulatory Data Operations - Provides SME guidance to teams responsible for regulatory and litigation data reporting, ensuring, compliance integrity, and responsiveness to evolving external demands. Supports a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Policy Formulation & Governance - Develops policies and procedures within scope of responsibility, securing buy-in and Leadership approval.
Create a governance framework to ensure consistent interpretation and application of policies across Housing Claims.
Operationalization of Policies - Designs and implement scalable procedures and control mechanisms to operationalize approved policies. Ensures alignment with legal, compliance, and business continuity standards while optimizing efficiency and adaptability.
Workflow Optimization & Performance Management – Create workflows and standard process procedures that drive accuracy and compliance, and train associates to support performance improvement and adaptability.
Regulatory Reporting Accuracy & Quality Assurance – Coordinate the development, documentation, and implementation of regulatory reporting (e.g., MCAS).
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement - Serves as a SME between the department and broader organization, ensuring transparent communication, timely reporting, and alignment across all levels. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support initiatives and regulatory readiness.
Cross-Functional Representation & Influence - Represents the department on claims calls, project teams, and interdepartmental forums. Provides SME knowledge, advocates for data-driven decision-making, and supports the department’s priorities within the broader initiatives.
Regulatory Reporting Strategy & Execution - Manages the process of regulatory reporting (i.e. coordinating/planning) and writing guidelines to ensure reports are submitted regularly and when needed. Keeps an eye on changing rules and updates reporting methods ahead of time to stay compliant and prepared.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Minimum 5 years of cross-functional experience in risk management, data management, Claims, and/or process management.
3-5 years of insurance related experience or similar activity outside the organization to include claims experience, data analytics and/or process management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Assurant products and understanding of regulatory compliance governing the GH Claims Organization
Education:
BA in Insurance, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field, OR 5 + years process and control work experience.
Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years equivalent experience in delivering process improvement/training experience desired.

Pay Range:
$86,000.00 - $143,700.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
