Assurant has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Governance, Analyst!

The Accounting Governance, Analyst will be a key resource in the development and ongoing support of the Governance model over Global Accountings’ Business Partner Outsourcing (BPO) and/or Global Capability Center (GCC). This role will be accountable for enhancing and standardizing the offshoring governance across Global Accounting and ensure oversight and accountability, proactively address financial & operational risk, and have better control over service delivery. This role will serve as liaison between Sourcing, Vendor Management, Global Accounting, and BPO/GCC.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Strategic 10%)

  • Key support role in developing and implementing process and performance management strategies in support of Global Accounting Offshoring Governance of BPO and GCC

  • Ability to execute defined strategy and is appropriately aligned through operating goals and measurements.

  • Benchmark and/or evaluate market trends and gather market intelligence.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to enhance governance.

  • Partner with stakeholders to drive related strategies throughout Global Accounting.

Operational Excellence (50%)

  • Operational Governance - liaison between sourcing, Accounting, & BPO: Review/approval of contractual deliverables & obligations related to accounting operations, change management process adherence, ensure governance of on-going issues and reporting, liaison with vendor management regarding changes to service delivery contracts, disaster recovery planning & testing, coordination of Monthly Business Reviews

  • Facilitate the tracking of vendor relationship, including evaluate vendor performance quality, devise improvement strategies, and oversee implementation of such strategies to enhance performance.

  • Facilitate, support, and implement effective performance metrics & reporting, data analytics, and monitoring of targeted performance indicators.

  • Collaborates with Global Accounting Leads to identify, propose, and implement approved issues resolution alternatives; supports implementation of agreed upon solutions.

  • Formulates, develops, and administers procedures necessary to implement approved policies and procedures, and provides the overall direction necessary to ensure the delivery of standardized and streamlined processes.

Development of Effective Governance Processes (40%)

  • Identify best practices and skill growth opportunities to ensure effective ongoing development of governance processes.

  • Work closely with Global Accounting leaders to understand each Global Accounting team needs, current level of performance and assist in achieving department goals and objectives through partnership with BPO and/or GCC.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance related areas

  • 2+ years’ experience in managing operational governance of a third party.

  • 2+ years knowledge of offshoring/outsourcing

  • 2+ years’ experience in vendor management, including understanding of contract terms, and execution of SLAs & Metrics of 3rd party business partner.

Other Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

  • Strong understanding of management reporting, performance metrics/KPIs, supplier contracts

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Oracle Cloud ERP a plus

  • Microsoft BI Reporting / Cubes a plus

  • 2+ Years of experience in shared service center and/or financial service industry and/or insurance industry

  • Public accounting experience a plus

  • Strong Accounting and/or Audit background

  • Strong understanding of SOX controls and other controls over financial reporting

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Strong financial analysis, analytical abilities and proficient in manipulating and analyzing large, complex, and disparate data sets

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively across teams and independently with other disciplines.

  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail

  • Six Sigma or equivalent process efficiency experience

  • Proficient in leveraging software to satisfy accounting and financial operational needs and requirements

Pay Range:

$71,300.00 - $119,100.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
