Akkodis is seeking a Lead Engineering Technician for a Contract job with a client in Clearwater, FL. The ideal candidates must demonstrate precision in executing test procedures, operating specialized test equipment, and maintaining detailed logs while collaborating closely with engineers and technicians.

Rate Range: $31/hour to $33/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Lead Engineering Technician job responsibilities include:

• Oversee and perform hands-on technical tasks, including assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of engineering systems or prototypes.

• Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality and timely project execution.

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.

• Set up and operate specialized test equipment, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to safety protocols.

• Document test results, procedures, and modifications, maintaining detailed records for quality assurance and reporting.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lab organization, equipment maintenance, and process optimization.

Desired Qualifications:

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.

• Minimum of 5 years in a hands-on technical role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

• Proven experience in operating and maintaining general-purpose test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies) and executing complex test procedures.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead technicians and collaborate effectively with engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
