Akkodis is seeking an Electronic/Electrical Product Development Engineer for a full-time direct hire opportunity near Downers Grove, IL. Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of electronic or hardware product development. The Product Development Engineer will design and develop IoT applications, electronic products, and systems for conveyor applications.

Salary Range: $95-105K, salary negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Electronic Product Development Engineer job responsibilities include:

· Leading the design and development of electronic products and systems for conveyor applications, including sensors, controllers, and communication modules. Ensure that products meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.

· Implementing and optimize IoT technologies for real-time monitoring, data acquisition, and system control. Develop and integrate wireless communication protocols and cloud-based solutions to enhance product functionality.

· Developing prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate designs and ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during development and testing phases.

· Working closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration of electronic components with mechanical systems and software applications.

· Creating and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals. Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

· Staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance product performance and development processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic product development or hardware design.

· Proficiency in electronic circuit design and PCB layouts.

· Experience with design and simulation tools such as Altium Designer, MATLAB, or similar is a plus.

· Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python) for embedded system would be a plus. Understanding of IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, HTTP, CoAP) and wireless communication technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee) is a plus.

· Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels
