Akkodis is seeking an Accounting Manager II for a Contract job with a client in Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid). Responsibilities include overseeing financial reporting and month-end closing processes, managing a team of analysts and clerks, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley regulations.

Rate Range: $50/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Accounting Manager II job responsibilities include:

• Overseeing accounting functions to ensure an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close.

• Reviewing journal entries, analyzing, and adjusting income statement and balance sheet accounts.

• Supervising and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolving reconciling items.

• Analyzing financial results and providing variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.

• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.

• Providing leadership and supervision to accounting staff, including six analysts and 11 clerks.

• Managing the resolution of complex accounting issues, including researching and resolving technical accounting challenges.

• Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Sec. 404 legislation and monitoring the internal control environment.

• Proposing process changes to strengthen internal controls and improve accounting procedures.

• Handling additional duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

• 3-7 years of accounting management experience, with a proven track record of managing teams.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and prior experience with financial reporting and general accounting.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables), and experience with ERP systems like SAP.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
