Akkodis is seeking an Engineering Project Manager (Electrical) for a Contract to hire job with a client in Orlando, FL. Responsibilities include designing and specifying electrical components like static excitation systems and power distribution equipment, as well as collaborating with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project implementation.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineering Project Manager (Electrical) job responsibilities include:

  • Designing and specifying electrical components such as static excitation systems, generator protection systems, and low voltage power distribution equipment.

  • Creating and releasing technical system requirements and procurement specifications for electrical components.

  • Developing technical design and interface documentation for equipment in scope.

  • Coordinating component interfaces with internal and external partners, supporting installation and commissioning teams.

  • Reviewing and approving engineering documentation and vendor quotations for compliance with technical specifications.

  • Contributing to the development of electrical concepts and system designs for power plants.

  • Managing design calculations and handling multiple tasks while ensuring high-quality standards and meeting project timelines.

  • Supporting proposal activities and project implementations, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or higher.

  • 5-8 years of experience in electrical systems for combined cycle power plants.

  • Expertise in the design and specification of static excitation systems, startup frequency converters, and generator protection systems.

  • Proficiency in interpreting and applying relevant international and local standards (IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, OSHA).

Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
