Engineering Project Manager

Clearwater, FL

6-12 month Contract to hire

Salary Range: $45/HR to $60/HR; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Assist the tech leads and Engineering Project Managers (EPMs) with project execution by gathering critical project metrics and assist with lean initiatives
• Assist the engineering team with task execution and help with engineering tools
• Assist section and technical managers with 3rd party resource management
• Assist with on-boarding of new resources, including GE new hires, purchased service agreement personnel and contractors.
• Assist leadership with monthly headcount (resource) supply & demand metrics and tracking at both the department and project level.
• Assist department leadership with continuous 3rd party support of programs through purchase order updates, statement of work generation, monitoring/statusing of supplier performance and collaborating with the GE New Product Introduction sourcing organization.
• Point of contact for providing access to tools (RTC, Box, DOORS, Rally, Spotfire, Confluence, Jira)
• Develop, implement, and maintain tools/metrics that help engineers
• Provide CNMS leadership with inputs to help make strategic decisions on individual projects and products.
• Collaborate with the CNMS Technical Managers to identify and assign key skillsets and resources required for project execution.
• Escalate issues that need engineering or business leadership assistance in a timely manner.
• Assist in the development of effective metrics and follow-on monitoring of team progress towards deliverables.
• Demonstrate a behavior of continuous improvement with the goal of helping the business deliver on customer commitments.
• Contribute to, or lead, continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications include:

• Experience with MS Office tools to generate project deliverable plan lines (burn-up/burn-down charts), Metrics slides.
• US Person desired due to access restrictions to tools
• Familiarity with Regulated Engineering Development Process
• Advanced Excel Skills using Pivot Tables, Filters, Charts, Tables and Macros
• Developing, presenting and tracking KPIs
• Experience with DOORS and Version Control tools
• DOORS eXtension Language (DXL) experience desired
• Experience with change management and config management process/tools
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
• Familiarity with creating schedule and network diagrams
• Familiarity with Earned Value and Activity Based Management methods
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with global and virtual teams
• Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
