Business Process Engineer

Provides process engineering support and expertise for product delivery and support activities to achieve operations improvement and performance goals.
Works on their own in some capacities and on a high-performance process engineering team in others.

Essential Duties:

Evaluates key processes and identify opportunities for process improvement to improve delivery of products and services.
Facilitates the successful adoption and implementation of new processes and initiatives.
Integrates process improvement initiatives to increase quality and decrease costs across the delivery team.
Provides project management support including project design and planning, plan execution, monitoring and management of projects, and project status/risks tracking/reporting.
Provides business planning including support of defining business purposes and identifying goals for related projects and programs.
Develops and implements a performance monitoring plan detailing the implementation metrics and end state performance metrics of the process improvement projects within the product lines.
Other Duties:

Manages day-to-day individual workload, monitor milestones and critical dates.
Facilitates implementation of new functionality, training and troubleshooting.
Promotes teamwork and knowledge sharing in pursuit of effective problem solving.
Travel up to 10% per year in support of assigned projects and as directed by Manager.


Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Experience and expertise in project selection, design, planning, and management
Experience improving processes for quality of care, and patient satisfaction
Independent, self-directed and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment.
Strong organizational skills with experience in supporting multiple simultaneous activities and tasks.
Exhibits excellent writing and verbal communications skills; is able to communicate verbally and in writing with business and technical personnel at all levels.
Expert command of MS Office especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Creates frequent business presentations.
Possesses Influencing skills.
Exceptional team player skills and be able to work with all levels of the company.
Plans and leads meetings.
Has experience and familiarity with various software development life cycle methodologies including Agile Scrum.
Creates and presents metrics to support quality status and goals.
Has the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly.
Ability to show training or certifications in other process improvement related areas, including Lean Six Sigma, PMP, ITIL, or RUP desired.

Undergraduate degree
Any advanced training, certification or degree relevant to the position.
Certification(s), Licenses:

Six Sigma Green Belt or willingness to study for and receive credentials within 6 months of assuming the position.
Project Management Professional (PMP)
CMMI for Dev / Service
Years of experience in a similar role:

2 + years of business technology experience with a variety of assignments
4 + years’ experience in business process re-engineering with demonstrated, increasing responsibilities within this field
