Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IT infrastructure and systems expert ready to take on the challenge of leading an organization’s strategic technical needs as a Chief Technology Officer. As CTO at BrandStar, you will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to garner a thorough understanding of the technology needs and resources of the organization and translate these needs into strategic goals and technical initiatives.

Ideal candidates for this position must have extensive experience architecting and implementing IT infrastructure solutions and software technologies, be well versed in new technologies, and be a hands-on leader who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting things done.

Key responsibilities include:

Set clear priorities and goals for technology needs and resources, balancing long-term and immediate needs.
Oversee the technology strategy of the company spanning IT planning, strategy, systems implementation, and procurement relative to all areas of technology including, but not limited to, IT infrastructure, software, networking, data security, management, and governance.
Oversee day-to-day technical operations, projects, and staff to meet business needs and objectives while ensuring system functionality and efficiency.
Manage strategic vendor and technology partner relationships.
Work with key stakeholders to compile annual technology business plan and budget.
Effectively manage the organization’s technology within established budget.
Make infrastructure decisions, ensuring technical excellence, versatility, safety and soundness, resiliency and scalability in the architecting and engineering of product solutions, as well as managing all technical delivery.
Facilitate the development and implementation of disaster recovery and IT security failure plans.
Establish Continuous Improvement plans to improve qualify, efficiency, and productivity, reduce costs, or improve control measures incorporating new processes and/or technologies to drive the business forward.
Experience and Skills
BrandStar is a dynamic, growing multiple-company organization. The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in a multiple-company environment or acting as a consultant to multiple companies varying in size and scope with the ability to understand the unique needs of each while planning for each unit’s future growth.
Experience dealing with PI firms a plus.
Must have 10+ years of experience analyzing IT infrastructure and systems needs, developing implementation plans to address needs, and perform installations/implementations.
Previous experience in the television production industry and familiarity with associated technologies preferred.
In-depth knowledge of on-premise infrastructure, cloud technologies, networking, data security, and IT best practices.
Familiarity with new technologies including AI.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Must be able to collaborate effectively with internal team at all levels and external vendors.
Ability to see the ‘big picture’, develop plans, and lead others to accomplish goals.
Organized; with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks or project simultaneously, meet critical deadlines, and handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
Ability to adapt and pivot, often without notice, to address critical issues as they arise while still delivering on-time, on-budget departmental goals.
